Frequently Asked Questions

1. I've applied online. Now what?
We'll take a look at your application to see if there's a fit. If we see one (and we hope we do), one of our Recruiters will set up an initial phone interview. If you're not selected to interview for the position you applied for, we'll send an email to let you know.
2. What happens after the phone interview?
It depends on the position you're applying for, but one of two things will happen next. We'll contact you again to set up a second telephone interview, followed by an in-person interview. Or, we'll invite you to interview with someone at our office right away.
3. So if you want to meet me in person, will you pay for travel?
Absolutely … flight, meals, expenses. We want you to focus your energy on knocking our socks off in the interview so we've got the other stuff covered. Your recruiter can give you the details.
4. What should I do before my on-site interview?
Besides preparing to wow us with your smarts and talent, take the time to learn a thing or two about Expedia Inc. Visit our website at expediainc.com to learn more about our family of brands. Research and understand travel industry's big picture and how Expedia fits in.
5. What should I wear?
We're business casual, so if that's your style too, great! But if wearing a suit during an interview helps you feel more put together, please go right ahead. You'll feel comfortable either way.
6. What happens on the day of my interview?
You’ll meet a recruiter who will go over your interview schedule and introduce you to your first interviewer. During the course of the day, you can expect to meet with four to six people, for about an hour each.
7. How long before I know the results?
Once you've interviewed with us we will let you know where you stand as quickly as possible, usually within two weeks.
8. What projects will I work on?
There’s no running on the hamster wheel with your work never seeing the light of day around here. No matter what your area of interest, be assured that whatever project you take on will actually matter to the way we do business at Expedia.
9. And last but not least (and you know you're wondering), when do we talk money?
We know this is an important subject for everyone but a word to the wise here … use interviews for information gathering and direct any money questions to your recruiter.
